Restitution of State-owned Land

The continuation of political changes and the increase of insecurity and crisis in the country have provided the ground for a number of people in the country to seize state-owned land and use it for personal and commercial purposes.

According to current statistics, there are now one million and 600 thousand jeribs of state owned land in 30 provinces of the country subject to usurpation. The Afghanistan Land Authority – ARAZI is committed to restitute the land to be used for better purposes.

The ARAZI has set up three specific plans, including a five-year strategy to prevent more usurpation of state-owned land, a state-backed land extraction policy and a settlement policy addressing illegal settlements.
