The High Council for Urban Development meeting, chaired by the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan H.E Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, has approved a draft for construction of a park in Surkhakan of Laghman province, final master plan of Herat city and green industry industrial park in ARG. The draft was suggested by mayor of Mehtarlam, Mr. Nazifullah Alakozay. He said the 1,500 jeribs (300 hectares) of park is situated alongside of Kabul-Nangarhar highway in Surkhakan area and the president guided to the mayor of Mehtarlam and Ministry of Finance to provide required facilities. Afterward, Jawid Rahman Rahmani, a member of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land, presented master plan draft for Herat city and approved by the council. He added that the plan was drafted for a sustainable development of rural areas to build up better livelihood, establish relations between city and villages and to protect the agricultural and forests areas. Additionally, the president, H.E Ashraf Ghani thanked the efforts of the members of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land made in this regard, adding that the master plan draft must be simplified clearly. He suggested that Herat city has to be constructed according to its longest history. On the occasion of the meeting a member of the Ministry of Urban Development and Land suggested a draft for the green industry industrial park, constructing on 1,956 jeribs of land in Deh Sabz of Kabul city. The meeting decided that necessary steps will be taken regarding the land transformation, land management and identification of the land. At last but not least, the president guided to the acting minster of Urban Development and Land that a working team - containing members from Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, General Directorate of Office of the President, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat and Karim Amin, senior advisor of the president - to fully supervise the draft and present it for approval to the cabinet.
