Directorate of Geodesy and Cartography

The Directorate of Geodesy and Cartography is one of the important directorates of Afghanistan Land Authority - ARAZI. Survey of Afghanistan borders, elevation, gravimetric, correction of information to consider GPS from reference stations of GPS, providing existing information on land control, preparation of large topographical maps for the implementation of public projects, survey, establishment and measurement of international border patches between Afghanistan and neighboring countries, are the responsibilities of the directorate.

In the first step, this directorate is determined to install cover-stations in nine provinces then to implement this plan in all provinces of the country.

The director of geodesy is also planning to create dynamic geodetic networks in the areas concerned in order to reduce the risks of natural disasters, especially earthquakes. Similarly, the completion of the process of modernizing documents and border signs with the countries of Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and China is the development plan of the Directorate of Geodesy of ARAZI.
