Since its establishment, the Afghanistan Land Authority - ARAZI has been determined to establish a State Land Bank and provide reliable, accurate and credible information to the agencies and institutions as soon as possible. In the field of creating a Geographic Information System (GIS) is one of the basic requirements.
The ARAZI aims at the establishment and development of a comprehensive information system for social, developmental, economic and political purposes, the preparation of land maps using modern technology, surveying and consolidation of key land areas of the country, the identification and separation of land and private properties, and providing effective departmental management services by GIS.
GIS; collecting, analyzing, storing, managing and displaying geographic information as an important tool in the management of land information.
The directorate of (GIS) uses various types of GPS to survey and collect data and information on public land, public and personal needs of government departments, download points, data and information from GPS to related programs, mapping of surveyed parts by using GIS software and aerial and satellite photos, storing information, tables and maps in mapping software, updating and modifying maps after making changes to the area, analyzing spatial information on maps and software setting up geographical information.
